# Blog posts

Source: <https://docs.ictsviluppo.example/dossier/sections/section-featured-blog/>

Blog posts shows the latest articles of one of your blogs in a grid, with a heading and a “View all” link to the blog. Use it on the home page to bring your journal, lookbooks or care guides forward, or below an article to suggest what to read next. You can add it to any page.

## Choose the blog

Pick a blog in **Blog**. The section shows its most recent published articles, up to **Number of posts**. Blogs and articles are written in **Content > Blog posts** in your Shopify admin.

If no blog is chosen, or the blog has no articles, the section is hidden in your store. In the theme editor it shows sample cards and a notice that asks you to choose a blog, so you can still arrange the page.

## Use it below an article

On an article page the section never repeats the article being read: it skips it and takes the next one, so the grid stays full. If you leave **Blog** empty there, the section shows other posts from the same blog as the open article, which is usually what you want under every article.

## Decide what each card shows

Under **Blog card** you can turn the featured image, the date and the excerpt on or off, and choose the shape of the photos in **Image ratio**. All cards use the same shape, so the grid stays even whatever the size of your photos.

- The featured image is the one set on each article. An article without one shows a thin line instead of a photo, so it still lines up with the others.
- The excerpt is the one you write in the article’s **Excerpt** field. If it is empty, the card shows the first words of the article.
- The date is the article’s publication date, written out in full for screen readers.

## Arrange the grid

**Columns on desktop** sets how many cards sit side by side on large screens; with four columns, tablets show two. Phones always show one card per row. **Use full page width** lets the grid run to the edges of the window instead of the page’s usual width.

The **Heading** also names the section for screen readers. The “View all” link opens the blog page; turn it off with **Show “View all” link** if the section already sits on the blog.

## Show it only between two dates

Turn on **Schedule visibility** and set a start, an end, or both. See [Scheduling](https://docs.ictsviluppo.example/dossier/scheduling).
