# Collections list page

Source: <https://docs.ictsviluppo.example/dossier/sections/main-list-collections/>

Collections list page shows all the collections of your store as cards with an image, the collection name and how many products it has. It is used on the collections list template, the page at `/collections` of your store, and it is the only section there by default.

## Add, remove and order collections

The page lists every collection you create in **Products > Collections** in your Shopify admin: there is nothing to pick in the theme editor. Collections appear in alphabetical order, the order Shopify gives them, and the page has no setting to change it.

If you want to show only some collections, or in your own order, add a [Collection list](https://docs.ictsviluppo.example/dossier/sections/section-collection-list) section to a page or to the home page and choose the collections there.

## Choose the collection images

Each card shows the collection image set in **Products > Collections**. A collection without an image uses the photo of one of its products, as Shopify provides it. When there’s no image at all, the card shows a placeholder illustration.

The collection name and product count sit on the photo, over a gradient. **Text on image color scheme** chooses the colors of that text, and the gradient uses that scheme’s background color: pick a scheme whose text stands out on your photos. Turn off **Show product count** to show the name only.

## Arrange the grid

Under **Layout**, choose **Collections per row on desktop**, **Columns on mobile** and an **Image ratio** that suits your photos. **Use full page width** lets the cards reach the edges of the window, while the title and the page links keep a small margin.

**Collections per page** sets how many cards load at once. With more collections than that, numbered page links appear below the grid, and the title shows the total and the current page, such as “Page 2 of 3”.

## Change the title and breadcrumbs

**Heading** is the main heading of the page. If you clear it, the page shows “Collections” in the customer’s language. **Show breadcrumbs** adds the path Home / Collections above the title.

## What customers see without collections

A store with no collections shows a message and a “View all products” button to the catalog. A page number past the last page shows a message with a link back to the first page.
